Finalist in the 2009 Darebin La Trobe Art Prize Exhibition
Established in 1997, DLAP, City of Darebin La Trobe University Acquisitive Art prize is dedicated to supporting contemporary visual artists and arts practices in Victoria. Presented by the City of Darebin and La Trobe University, DLAP 07 offers two awards: $10,000 for best work on show, to be acquired for the City of Darebin Art Collection and a $3,000 prize for the best work by an emerging artist to be acquired for the La Trobe University Art Collection. A $500 People's choice award will be voted for by visitors to the exhibition.

There Is No Place Like Home

This exhibition featured the work of 43 celebrated Australian artists alongside graduates of Mission Australia's Creative Youth Initiative Program. The concept of 'home' is uniquely explored by the contributing artists in variety of genres. All were asked to interpret this theme on a 50cmx50cm canvas. Exhibition curated by Nicky Ginsberg and was opened by John McDonald.
